Hope On A Leash

Dear Rachelle,

Balji did his best to provide
for his family, but in his destitute village in Nepal, it was almost impossible.
Thankfully, Balji and his family were Christians and trusted the Lord to
provide. And He did, but not in a form they expected. Read
Balji’s story here
.

Many families like Balji’s are being impacted
through your prayers and gifts. Thank you for your partnership to see Asia come
to Christ!

Yours for the unreached,

K.P. Yohannan

Go read Balji’s story.  Then join us in reaching Asia with the love of Christ!!!

With Jesus

If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will
be too.
  || John 12:26 || NLT ||

The primary New Testament Greek word for "slave" is doulos. But
here the term John uses, translated "servant" is diakonos, which can also
be translated "slave." Jesus often uses two words interchangeably. (see Mk.
10:43f)

How many times have we wished, "If only I could be with Jesus." How often
have we complained, "He seems so far away from me." Here in John, Jesus gives us
the answer to this desire to be with Him; we must become His servants, His
slaves. If we want to be "where I am," it can only be as that man or woman He
owns as an obedient slave. We must follow in order to serve. We must serve in
order to keep company with Jesus, our Master.

Dreams

"I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long.
If
we’re in each other’s dreams, we can play together all night."

The Tide

Attempting to hold back love

Trying to halt the tide

Even if you close your eyes

The waves come washing in

And the water floods the sand

On the banks of your heart

“I have a Father!”

A GFA missionary found Swathy in a slum village like this one.

GOSPEL FOR ASIA ARTICLE:

Swathy came to school with exciting news to share with her friends.
"I have a Father who is alive," she announced, "and He is making a house for me, and He is going to come back and get me."

Nine-year-old Swathy had just learned, for the first time, of God’s
love for her as a Father when she met a Gospel for Asia missionary who
visited her home in the slum.

Swathy’s father had died before she was born, and she had
grown up filled with sorrow as she watched other children who still had
both their parents. Swathy’s mother worked very hard to take care of
her four children. But missing her father’s love, Swathy became
rebellious and difficult to handle. Even her teachers became frustrated
with her.

When Swathy heard about her heavenly Father, it changed her life. She
received Jesus as her Savior and started reading her Bible and praying
every day for her family’s salvation. Even her neighbors noticed the
change in her character and began sending their own children to the
GFA-affiliated church.

Please pray for Swathy to grow closer to the Lord, and that
she will always cherish His love. Pray also that her family will choose
to follow Christ.

I HAVE A BEDROOM!!!!!!!

I have a bedroom!  I HAVE A BEDROOM!!!!  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!  *squeals and jumps up and down ecstatically*  (Or at least I would if I had the energy after this wipe-out of a day.)  Alright, I know you don’t get it, but you’d be this excited too if you’d been bed-room-less for 5 months.  I had no clue how awesome it is to have a bed that is there all the time and a dresser to put your clothes in AND a bookshelf so that you can read ANY of your books without digging through boxes in the garage.  *happy sigh*   Now I don’t even want to leave the room; I just want to sit here on my bed and look around at my pretty pictures that I haven’t seen in 5 months.  Mmmmmm.    HOOOORAY!        *bursts into song*  PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
